Shinobi Striker error “Failed to retrieve data from server”

New updates are added at the bottom of this story…….

The original story (published June 13, 2022) follows:

Developed by Sun Ltd. and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker is an online multiplayer game released in August 2018.

Set in the timeline where Naturo is the Seventh Hokage, it features multiple multiplayer game modes such as Barrier, Base, Combat, Survival, and Flag Battle.

Characters are also divided into four categories: attack, defense, distance, and healing.

That said, several players from Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker reportedly received a “Failed to retrieve data from server” error message (1,2,3,4,5). Many are angry and frustrated and wonder why they can’t play the game.

Some have tried restarting their system and reinstalling the game thinking it was a problem on their part but to no avail. You can see in the image below what the error message looks like in the image below.

So since it’s one of the more free playstation games this month, I downloaded this game to my PS5, and was online earlier today and everything was fine, but now every time as i try to go there it says “failure to retrieve data from server” and makes me play offline. Before I say my connection is bad, it’s not, I’m using a LAN cable and the connection is good. I have tried restarting the console, downloading the game, resetting the internet connection and it still won’t let me online. Help?

Cannot connect to server. Good morning! I downloaded the game on ps4 yesterday and today I get a message saying “Failed to connect to server”. I searched online and reset my system, disconnected and reconnected my internet. I’m also on a wired connection so it shouldn’t be my speed or stability. Your help is much appreciated! Thanks

Unfortunately, the game developers have yet to comment on the issue where several players from Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker are getting a “Failed to retrieve data from server” error message.

However, we have found a workaround that may help resolve the issue. It forces players to spam input until the game loads.

As always, we’ll be keeping an eye on the issue and updating this space as we find more information, so be sure to keep checking PiunikaWeb.

Update 1 (June 14)

12:51 p.m. (IST): Some players are now reporting (1, 2) that this issue has been resolved and the game now functions normally. However, there is no official confirmation if the issue is actually fixed.

In addition, the support team had already informed players that the game will be in maintenance for a few hours. So, this could be the possible reason why players were getting the “Failed to retrieve data from server” error.

Update 2 (June 17)

11:11 a.m. (IST): Naruto to Boruto support on Twitter informed that the game was under maintenance on June 16th, which is why many players were getting the error “Failed to retrieve data from server”.
