Subisu Commissions Modular Data Center

Subisu has commissioned its largest modular data center. One of a kind, it is the largest data center commissioned in Nepal.

One of Nepal’s leading ISPs, Subisu Cablenet Ltd., has launched a modular data center. Based in Baluwatar, the company began building its data center during the Covid-19 pandemic. Finally, after two years, it became officially operational.

Subisu has integrated state-of-the-art, efficient and durable equipment. According to Ram Krishna Pariyar, chief technical officer (CTO) of the company, all the necessary materials such as racks and switches for the data center were sourced from Vertiv. Vertiv is an American data center equipment manufacturer.

Subisu has also provided alternate backup power during outages. The company has implemented a dual power system with a capacity of 40 kW in the first line and 70 kW in the second line. These are arranged in two rows with 8×8 racks for the data center to operate 24 hours a day.

In terms of capacity, the data center has a server running with a download and upload speed of 16 Tbps. Subisu says its modular data center has “One Plus One” protection.

Subisu brought the data center for its own service upgrade. But CTO Pariyar says it will be open to other businesses in the future.

For its protection, the data center is installed in a separate building and can withstand shocks up to 8 Richter scales. It can also receive and execute commands remotely. Pariyar also shared that the data center is Tier 2.5 hardware in the ratings, but hasn’t been officially measured.
